1982 – Happy 31st birthday to former Stanford TE Alex Smith who spent eight years in the NFL. He was a strong student-athlete for the Cardinal during his four-season collegiate career. His time at Stanford culminated in a 52-catch season for 706 yards and the 2004 John Mackey Award. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers then drafted him 71st overall in 2005.
